Sadr calls to limit terms of 3 presidencies
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, called to limit the terms of the three presidencies “by two terms only in order to avoid creating new dictatorships.”
In his speech via media outlets on Friday, he assured the necessity of “Forming an emergency committee, comprising key officials of Interior, Defense and International Security Ministries in addition to the Intelligence departments, that could provide security to the Iraqi people in addition to forming an emergency committee that could provide the necessary services such as electricity, drinking water and other services.”
In regard to limiting the terms of the Prime Minister, he emphasized the necessity of “Limiting the terms of the three presidencies by two terms only in order to avoid creating new dictatorships and not to marginalize any constituent of the Iraqi people.”
“There should be good relations with the neighboring countries and avoid the occupation countries or having their embassies in Iraq,” he added, pointing out “There should be a settlement to the unemployment problem through distributing the wealth of Iraq in an organized way away from thieves.”
