Cop, civilian killed in separate incidents in Mosul

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A policeman and a civilian were killed and two Iraqi army soldiers were wounded in acts of violence that took place in Mosul in the past 24 hours, security sources said. “A policeman was killed by unknown gunmen in al-Mansour region in southern Mosul , while a civilian was killed when armed men opened fire on him in al-Jmassa region in eastern Mosul ,” a police source said. “An improvised explosive device went off targeting an Iraqi army vehicle patrol in al-Tank neighborhood in western Mosul , injuring two soldiers, who were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment,” he said. Meanwhile, Iraqi security forces arrested 23 suspected gunmen during security raids in Baghdad , Basra and Mosul . SH (P) 1
