Ammo found in Missan
MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Police forces on Friday seized amounts of ammunitions in central and southern Missan, a senior police officer said. “Emergency police forces seized 38 tank’s missiles, 25 mortar shells and 12 anti-shields missiles in central Amara,” Colonel Sadeq Abdulazim al-Houloul told IraqiNews.com. “The forces also found another amount of ammunition on the main road that links Qalaat Saleh district to al-Azier district, south of Amara,” he added. Since June 19, Missan has been witnessing a security plan codenamed Bashaer al-Salam (Promise of Peace) the government said aimed to eliminate gunmen and outlaws and impose order and security all over the province. Missan is a Shiite province. Its capital city is al-Amara. Sitting on the Tigris River, Amara lies 390 km south of Baghdad. Missan, in the east of the country, bordering Iran, is home to many marsh Arabs. SH (P) 1
