Sadr: Governmental silence behind growing power of AAH

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The leader of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, attributed “The growing power of the Asaib Ahlul Haq to the governmental silence towards their dirty deeds.”

In response to an appeal by one of his followers who asked Sadr to interfere to save the people from the practices of the AAH, Sadr said “The desire of some people for having money from the AHH, the fear of some others from their power in addition to the governmental silence towards these sectarian militias led to their growing power.”

“You have to fight them through the unified social and peaceful as well as political performance to end their impudent ideas and dirty deeds,” he concluded.

Asaib Ahlul Haq is a group which split from the Sadr Trend and adopted the armed activities against the US forces in Iraq and recently expressed desire to join the political process.
