Maliki: We seek strategic ideas to keep us away from wars

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, inaugurated al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, which is a part of the Defense University for Military Studies that involves National Defense College and the War College, in Baghdad on Sunday.

A statement by Maliki’s office received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) quoted Maliki as saying during the inauguration ceremony “Inaugurating this center represents an important step towards establishing the State institutes,” noting that “It is necessary for the center to prepare the studies that help Iraq to occupy its normal position in the region.”

“We are seeking new strategic ideas to keep us away from the wars,” he added.

He called “To prepare the required plans to confront the challenges by depending on the national specialized scholars in coordination with the universities and the institutes.”
