Sadr rejects nominating Maliki for 3rd term
Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, announced “His rejection for nominating the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, for 3rd term.”
In response to question by one of his followers over the statements of MP, Izzat al-Shahbander, of the State of Law Coalition in which point out that “Sadr Trend refuse nominating Maliki for third term to PM post,” calling “The Trend either to accept this nomination or to split from the Iraqi National Alliance,” Sadr confirmed “Yes, We do not accept Maliki’s nomination for PM post for a 3rd term.”
“We do not want Maliki to be similar to Saddam and we wish him to give a chance for others to assume this post,” he added.
The relations between Maliki and Sadr witnessed tension recently.
