Independent MP: Maliki lost political legitimacy

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The independent MP, Sabah al-Saedi, said “The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki lost his political legitimacy and he is about to lose the legal legitimacy too,” stressing that “It is a matter of time till the political sides withdraw confidence from him.” Saedi stated “The process of withdrawing confidence from the Premier, regardless of reasons behind it, is one of the democratic practices in the country and those who approved the Constitution whether in the Cabinet or the ruling bloc have to respect it.” “The democratic rulers must accept the democratic displacement, change, and overthrow, since the judgment is basically to the people,” he added. “we call upon the President Talabani not to be subjected to the pressures practiced on him and to show the Iraqis the reasons of these pressures especially that he has promised in Erbil meeting to submit the request of withdrawing confidence if the number of the signatures completed,” he mentioned, noting that “The number of signatures reached to (170) not (160).”
