DIP, Fadhila Party discuss political updates

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A delegation of Dawa Islamic Party visited Fadhila Islamic Party at it’s headquarter in Baghdad on Thursday.

A statement by Fadhila Party received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Both sides discussed the political updates and agreed upon the necessity of solving the disputes that hurdle the political process as the emphasized the negative consequences of the continuity of the current situation on the security and the political conditions.”

“Both sides stressed the importance of establishing a political authority within the Iraqi National Alliance to serve Iraq’s interests,” the statement mentioned.

“During the meeting, they confirmed the significance of neglecting the political conflicts and preferring Iraq’s interests on the personal interests,” the statement concluded.

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured, on last Saturday night, that the number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.

The political sides which held a meeting in Erbil on last Sunday decided to send “A clarifying message to confirm that the signatures collected for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, are constitutionally suffesient and valid.

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
