Shabandar: Investigating Maliki good chance to reveal sides behind toppling him

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The State of Law Coalition’s MP Ezzat al-Shabandar considered the investigation of the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki in the parliament as “A good chance to for the direct dialogue in order to get rid of the project of toppling Maliki which lacks the national intentions.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “The President, Jalal Talabani’s suspension of the request of withdrawing confidence from Maliki gave the SLC enough time to reveal the sides which financed this project.”

“We do depend on the MPs who believe in the national benefit,” he added, expecting that “Some more MPs will suspend their signatures.”

“The (160) MPs showed a preliminary attitude towards this issue,” he pointed out, assuring that, “160 signatures do not represent an easy number, but this is real democracy where a single vote rather than three or four can change decisions.”

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured, on last Saturday night, that “The number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.”

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
