IS MP: Talabani’s statement over toppling Maliki attempt to change attitudes

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Jamal al-Kilani, of the Iraqiya Slate stated “The President, Jalal Talabani’s statement over withdrawing confidence from the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki is to keep the attitudes balanced towards this issue, hoping to change these attitudes.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “The issue of toppling Maliki will not be changed and we will not be affected by the procedures used by the government because this issue is a must.”

He confirmed “The allied political sides have more than (160) MPs’ signatures and if they did not have the sufficient number of signatures to topple Maliki, they would not have started this issue.”

“Toppling Maliki is a national project,” he added, expecting to “Form a special political committee to withdraw confidence from Maliki to start the reformation phase in the political process.”

“The allied sides do not fear anyone because they are doing this issue according to the constitutional and legal framework,” he concluded.

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured, on last Saturday night, that “The number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.”

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
