"Government fails to fulfill pledges towards Iraqis," says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Zainab al-Sahlani of the Ahrar Bloc within the Sadrist Trend, said that “The Iraqi government failed to meet its promises towards the citizens since the Cabinet was formed up till now,” noting that “The change winds which swept the Arab region were about to topple the government, but the intervention of the Sadr Trend to give the government a chance postponed toppling the cabinet.” Sahlani stated “The Iraqi government was about to be overthrown due to the change winds which have swept the Arab countries a year ago, yet the Sadrist mediated through giving the government a time limit to relieve the oppressed people and stop discrimination among the Iraqis in respect to granting privileges.” The government did not make benefit of that chance and did not achieve its promises over developing services and the situation remained as it is.” It is worth to mention that the political situation in Iraq witness escalated and aggravated crises and disputes among the largest blocs, in light of failing all attempts to hold the national meeting. A group was made of the Iraqiya Slate, Kurdistani Alliance and the Sadrist Trend to withdraw confidence from the premier al-Maliki.
