Harb: Dissolving parliament needs agreement between President, Premier

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The legal Expert, Tariq Harb, clarified that “Dissolving the parliament needs not the approval of the MPs but it needs reaching agreement between the President, Jalal Talabani, and the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, over dissolving it.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Article 64 of the constitution specified two ways to dissolve the parliament, first by voting on this issue inside the parliament and approving it by 163 MPs while the second way when the Premier requests the President to dissolve the parliament and the latter should accept.”
