White bloc: Withdrawing confidence from Maliki collapses political process

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Secretary General of the White bloc, Jamal al-Bateikh, pointed out that “Withdrawing confidence from the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, will result in collapse for the political process which is related to his political future.”

In a press statement, received by IraqiNews.com, he said Thursday “The political future of Iraq is related to Maliki’s future and withdrawing confidence from him will cause collapse of the political process which we do not wish to happen,” assuring that “We want to have a successful political process aims to develop the governmental institutions.”

“The Iraqi people are aware of the conflicts among the political leaders and wonder about the national reconciliation and its role in this conflict,” he added, noting that “The reason behind this crisis is the different demands of the political blocs which require them to re-consider their attitudes to settle the disputes.”

He stressed the necessity of “Recognizing the responsibility that each political bloc has and to serve the Iraqi citizens regardless personal benefits.”
