Sadr promises blocs to ensure 40 MPs supporting withdrawing confidence from Maliki
Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, revealed that he promised the political blocs “if they manage to gather 124 MPs supporting withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, he will complete them to become 164 MPs.”
In response to question by one of his followers over what is said by some leaders within the Dawa Islamic Party that Sadr neglected his call to withdraw confidence from Maliki, he said “These statements are groundless,” noting that “I promised my partners if they manage to get 124 votes, I will complete them to become 164 votes.”
“I will not neglect my promise because the DIP rejected all reformations unfortunately,” he concluded.
