Maliki: Government to support provinces, upgrade their conditions

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, confirmed that “Nineveh province gets a special importance,” assuring that “The government’s emphasis on the security file during the last stage led to delay presenting the services to the citizens of the province.”

A statement by Maliki’s office received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Maliki inaugurated the session of the Council of Ministers which is held in Nineveh province on Tuesday and confirmed the necessity to enhance the role of the local governments in developing the services in the province.”

“Maliki stressed that the Central Government will support the provinces by upgrading their financial capabilities to enlarging the number of the reconstruction projects,” the statement mentioned.

“Over the significance of Nineveh province, Maliki emphasized that it suffered a lot from terrorism which required consolidating the efforts to relieve the citizens’ suffering,” the statement added.

“Maliki called to support the provinces which suffered from terrorism and the deteriorated security situation like Nineveh, Anbar and Diyala provinces,” the statement concluded.
