Awadi: Withdrawing confidence from Maliki requires 217 votes

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ihsan al-Awadi, of the State of Law Coalition said “The issue of withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, is unrealistic due to lack of quorum in the parliament required for this issue.” Awadi cited “Withdrawing confidence needs support of 217 MPs out of 325 MPs,” noting that “This number is not available currently since the sides which demand withdrawing confidence from the Maliki are not more than 120 MPs.” “The Iraqi National Alliance does not want to withdraw confidence from Maliki,” he concluded.
