Kurdish MP: Government not to dissolute parliament, conduct early elections
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Latif Mustafa, of the Change bloc announced that the government cannot dissolute the parliament and calls to conduct early elections.
He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “In the parliamentary system, the government cannot dissolute the parliament but the parliament can dissolute itself and that is called the self-dissolution.”
“In some parliamentary systems, the government can dissolute the parliament when a political bloc threatens to withdraw confidence from ot, but this cannot be done in the Iraqi parliamentary system,” he added.
“Withdrawing confidence from government and the resignation of the president belong to the majority and the attitudes of the constituents of the Iraqi National Alliance,” he concluded.
The political process witnesses complicated disputes between the Iraqiya Slate and the State of Law Coalition over not applying Erbil agreement and the council of the strategic policies.
The political leaders held a meeting on Saturday at the residence of the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, to discuss the political crisis after the end of the set time to Maliki to respond to the letter of Erbil meeting.
Earlier, the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr called the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki to visit him in Najaf before setting the final touches for Erbil and Najaf meetings.
