Weaving company stages strike in Wassit
WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Staff of Wassit general company for textile industries on Sunday announced an open strike to protest delay in paying their salaries, according to source from the company. “The company’s staff would continue its strike until the finance ministry releases their delayed salaries of October 2008,”Yasser Niama, a company engineer, told IraqiNews.com. “The company’s staff that consists of 5,500 official employees had suffered a lot because of their salaries delay, supposed to be paid by the 22nd of each month delayed,” he said. “The strike will keep on peaceful demonstrations in front of the governorate’s building until our demands of getting our salaries like all other state-employed staffers are met,” he added.
