Dabbagh: Iraq not to participate in 5+1 meeting

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The spokesperson of the government, Ali al-Dabbagh, expressed his hope to settle the crisis over Iran nuclear program in the (5+1) meeting that will be held in Baghdad on Wednesday.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “The Iranian nuclear program is important to the world and it is one of the argumentative points between Iran and the western countries, so we think that (5+1) meeting will be an important one that we hope to settle this crisis.”

“We do our best to sustain stability in the region where Iraq could gather the disputed sides and exploit its good relations with Iran, the USA and the other countries to settle the crisis in spite of not being a part in the meeting” he added, noting that “Iraq will not attend the meeting and will provide the logistic support to it.”

“We think that the peaceful use of the nuclear power is legal issue, but having the nuclear weapon is not required and we are against it.” He concluded.
