Source: Najaf meeting results in messages sent to INA, Talabani

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Informed source stated revealed “Najaf meeting, which involved leaders of political blocs, resulted in two messages sent to the Iraqi National Alliance and the President, Jalal Talabani, to withdraw confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.

The source stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The message sent to the INA involves a request to nominate a candidate to replace Maliki within a week.”

“The message sent to Talabani involved a call to withdraw confidence from Maliki,” the source added.

“The head of the Iraqi National Congress, Ahmed al-Chalabi, who participated in the meeting, was tasked to deliver the messages,” the source concluded.

A crucial political meeting was held in Najaf province on last Saturday, some political leaders attended the meeting while some others did not.
