Sayhoud: INA has no replacement to Maliki
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohammed al-Sayhoud, of the State of Law Coalition denied reports over searching for a replacement to the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, after the end of the time limit set by the Sadr Trend.
Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “The INA resembles the biggest bloc in the parliament and it has no new candidate to replace Maliki.”
“The negotiations are still going on represented by the meetings of Erbil and Najaf,” he added, “noting that “Actually the single attempts are not effective, but we hope them to be helpful in holding the national meeting called for by the President, Jalal Talabani.”
“The only settlement for the crisis is to conduct a dialogue if the political blocs want to achieve the benefit of Iraqi people,” he concluded.
MP, Abdul Hussein Rysan, of al-Ahrar bloc announced, on the 14th of May, that the INA is able to nominate more than one candidate to replace Maliki after the end of the time limit.
The political process witnesses complicated disputes between the Iraqiya Slate and the State of Law Coalition over not applying Erbil agreement and the council of the strategic council.
The political leaders held a meeting on Saturday at the residence of the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, to discuss the political crisis after the end of the set time to Maliki to respond to the letter of Erbil meeting.
