Abtan: Exchanged visits between SIIC, DIP not for "Political gains"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Abdul Hussien Abtan, assured that “The exchanged visits between the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council and the Dawa Islamic Part are not intended to get political gains.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The citizen bloc has the goal of serving the citizens and to improve the services presented to them,” noting that “We are not a part of the government but we support every correct action performed by the government.”

“Some political figures within the Citizen bloc have the ability and the qualifications to assume key posts in the State,” he added.

Earlier, the leadership of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council headed by, Ammar al-Hakim, and the leadership of the Dawa Islamic Party, headed by, Nouri al-Maliki, held meeting to discuss political situation.
