Jaafery calls media sector to be effective, not affected

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafery, called the media sector in Iraq to be effective rather than being affected.

Jaafery received an Iranian delegation headed by the head of the Iranian Media Commission, Ezzat Allah Thurghami on Tuesday in presence of some managers of some media outlets.

A statement by Jaafery’s office cited “The two sides discussed the mutual cooperation and the exchange of the experiments in the media sector,” noting that “Jaafery assured that the media sector must report the truth and defend the national issues and be effective rather than being affected.”

According to the statement, Jaafery stated “We should not marginalize the media because it is a fixed truth and we must elevate it to establish a strong cultural base.”

He assured on the role of the journalist to build the country especially those who search for truth in the cultural and moral means, calling to provide all the opportunities to achieve the good goals and face the challenges.
