Sadr clarifies his stance towards Maliki
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, clarified his stance towards the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, when he described him previously as Dictator, Sectarian and his demands over implementing Erbil Agreement which resulted in isolating the Sadr Trend from the other Iraqi Shiite sides.
In response to a question over his repeated criticism for Maliki, which resulted in isolating the Sadrists from other Shiite and siding them with the Kurds and the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, he said “Thanks for your question, I was a defender for right and will remain even if I will lose my friends, this is for me happiness mixed with sorrow.”
“Through these demands, I want to defend Maliki from turning into a new dictator in Iraq,” al-Sadr stressed.
Earlier, Muqtada al-Sadr sent a message that involved nine points to the Iraqi National Alliance and asked to implement them otherwise, the Sadr Trend along with the Kurdistani Alliance and the Iraqiya Slate will demand to withdraw confidence from the Maliki’s cabinet to overcome the current crisis.
