Maliki, Iranian delegation discuss upgrading relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier Minister Nouri al-Maliki discussed with a delegation from the Iranian Shura Council (Parliament) the bilateral relations between the two countries.

A statement by Maliki’s office, received by Iraqi News, stated that “Maliki, during his meeting with Chairman of Foreign Policy and National Security in the Iranian Shura Council Committee, Aladdin Al-Broujerdi, and his accompanying delegation, discussed with him ways of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, particularly the parliamentary, economic and trade.”

The statement added that “Maliki , during the meeting, assured the wills of the two countries to develop and strengthen relations in all areas for the interest of the two neighboring peoples.”

For his side, Broujerdi expressed his country’s readiness to raise the level of cooperation to serve the common interests between the two countries.
