Zuwaini, ICRC discuss wars consequences on women in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Bushra al-Zuwaini, the Consultant of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, discussed with the International Committee of the Red Cross the consequences of the wars on the Iraqi women.

A statement by Zuwaini’s office received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Zuwaini received a delegation from the ICRC and discussed the Iraqi women’s conditions and suffering since 2003 due to the wars which were launched by the former regime against the neighboring countries.”

“Zuwaini stressed that the cooperation with the ICRC manifested through various activities which aim to develop the circumstances of the Iraqi women,” the statement added.

“She assured that the government seeks supporting the women through the governmental institutions and by amending the laws which concern the women by the parliament,” the statement concluded.

Humanitarian organization working around the world on an impartial basis to protect and assist people affected by armed conflicts and internal disturbances.
