Mhamidawi calls Kurdish leaders to announce their stances concerning Hashimi

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Secretary General of Brave Sons of Iraq Alliance, Abbas al-Mhamidawi, called “the Kurdish leaders to be like the President, Jalal Talabani, in announcing their frank stances concerning the judicially wanted Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimi.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Talabani’s statements in which he announced his rejection for Hashimi’s attempts to negatively affect the achievements which were accomplished by Baghdad Arab Summit proved for all Talabani’s neutrality in dealing with Hashimi’s case according to the law and the national interest.”

We hope the other Kurdish leaders to announce their stances towards Hashimi’s case if they really believe that Kurdistan Region is a part of one Iraq,” he concluded.

Earlier, the Office of the President, Jalal Talabani, assured that “the judicially wanted Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimi, left Iraq before getting the President’s approval.”

A presidential statement received by IraqiNews.com, on last Thursday cited “The President’s office received many questions and inquiries from local and foreign media outlets over Hashimi’s travel aboard,” noting that “We hereby inform that Hashimi left the country before receiving the President’s approval.”

Before that, Hashimi headed to the Qatari Capital Doha, where he met the Emir of Qatar State Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani and the Qatari Premier Hamad Bin Jasim Bin Jabur Al-Thani.

The Premier Nouri al-Maliki has pointed out in a press conference on Sunday morning that “Hashimi should not be received as a Vice-President by the Arab countries because he is wanted for justice,” stressing that “Iraq is a member of the Arab League and receiving Hashimi will violate the diplomatic rules.”
