Hakim: New Iraq will not allow monopolization, tyranny

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, confirmed that “The New Iraq will not allow any side to practice monopolization and tyranny.”

In delivering his speech during the ceremony of commemorating the 24th anniversary for massacre of Halabcha in Kurdistan region on Friday morning, Hakim stressed that “We are commemorating the memory of thousands of victims due to the crime committed in this city by the Former Regime,” noting that “We have to cooperate together to preserve the people, achievements and the constitution by not allowing the tyranny to be practiced in the new Iraq.”

We might differ in sects, communities and in our views yet we all agree that We are one country having one fate and that is why we have to consolidate the partnership among us,” he added.

“This occasion reminds us with the famous Fatwa of the religious authority, Mihsin al-Hakim, who forbid fighting the Kurds,” he pointed out.

He addressed the attendants saying that “I came from the south and the capital Baghdad carrying the coffins of the victims of the mass graves as well as a massage of peace and respect to consolidate unity between the marshes of the south and the mountains of the north to lead Iraq towards the freedom and construction.”

“Loyalty towards Halabcha victims is to be performed through serving their families,” he concluded.
