MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Government companies finalized the construction of a “vital” road in eastern Missan at a cost of 2.226 billion Iraqi dinars (roughly $1.9 million), the Missan Roads & Bridges Department director said on Sunday. “The Assyria Company for General Contracting finalized the 14-km-long al-Musharrah-Shatt al-Aama road, (25 km) east of al-Amara city, as part of the housing & reconstruction ministry’s appropriations for the year 2008,” Mohammed Jasseb al-Nouri told IraqiNews.com. He said that works on the road have taken 150 days to finish. “The department had finalized four roads, the Amara-Maymouna, the Ali al-Gharbi-Jallat, al-Mujahideen in the village of Umm Obayda and the Kemit-Fajr,” he added. Amara, the capital city of Missan province, lies 390 km south of Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 1
