Political parties use Hashimi’s case to blame Kurdistan RegionG

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Hassan Jihad of Kurdistan Alliance said that “Some political parties trying to use hosting Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi, wanted by the Iraqi Judiciary, to corner Kurdistan Regional Government Kurdistan RegionG and described this hosting as a violation of the Constitution.” 

Jihad stated to (IraqiNews.com) on Thursday that “Al-Hashimi request to transfer his case to Kirkuk which was the best solution to this crisis but the government did not accept this request,” noting that “The President of the Kurdistan RegionG Massoud Barzani asked the three presidencies [The Republic, House of Representatives and Ministers] to solve this issue as soon as possible.” 

“Kurdistan region did not ask al-Hashimi to seek protection in Kurdistan Region, he came to the region and then we heard that he is wanted to the judiciary in the Iraqi center government,” adding that Kurdistan Region have legislative, judicial and executive authorities, no one can interfere with the work of these authorities,” Jihad added.

Al-Hashimi said in an interview earlier “I do not want my staying in Kurdistan Region to cause any embarrassment to the region, I will leave immediately if I became a heavy burden on the region.” 

The Supreme Judicial Council issued on the 19th of December 2011 an arrest warrant against Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi and prevent him from traveling on the other hand the Ministry of Interior broadcasted confessions of al-Hashimi personal guards approving implementing a series of armed attacks against security personnel, government employees and visitors to the holy shrines.
