Tribal chief arrested in Baaquba

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi joint army-police force arrested the tribal chief of the Beni Zayd clan in central Baaquba district on Sunday, a police source in Diala said. “A joint force, backed by the Sahwa (Awakening) tribal fighters, captured Torki Hadi al-Saadoun, the chieftain of the Beni Zayd clan, in al-Tahreer neighborhood, central Baaquba,” the source told IraqiNews.com, without adding further information about reasons for the measure. Meanwhile, Brig. Abdelhussein al-Shimari, the Diala police chief, told IraqiNews.com that police personnel seized three Katyusha rockets ready for firing in the village of al-Qobba, al-Muqdadiya district, (45 km) northeast of Baaquba.
