Diyala, Baquba (IraqiNews.com) Many civilians were killed and injured when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives targeting a mourning procession in central Diyala.

The Deputy Chairman of Diyala Provincial Council, Sadeq al-Husseini, stated to IraqiNews.com on Monday that ”The suicide bomber detonated his explosive belt inside a mourning procession in Shefta village of central Baquba the central of Diyala province.”

The source added “The police cordoned the explosion scene in anticipation of any further attacks while the ambulances rushed to transport the dead bodies of the victims to the morgue and the injured people to the hospital,” noting that “The causalities are not identified yet.” \
