Recently inaugurated mosque attacked in Basra

Basra (IraqiNews.com) A sound bomb exploded in front of Othman mosque in Maqel area of central Basra province on Wednesday.

Security source reported to IraqiNews.com “The sound bomb was emplaced in front of the mosque,” noting that “The explosion caused material damages to the mosque such as breaking the glass and dislocating the door.”

Othman mosque is considered an important mosque in Basra province since it was built on the eighties of the last century.

The mosque was attacked and destroyed by outlaw groups in 2006.

The governor of Basra Khalf Abdul Samad has re-inaugurated the mosque just on last week.
