MoI denies referring Commander of IFP to retirement

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Interior denied the reports concerning referring the Commander of the Federal Police to retirement.

The Ministry of Interior reported in statement to IraqiNews.com on Monday that “The Interior Ministry denies what some media outlets reported about referring the Commander of the Federal Police the Lieutenant General, Hussein Awadi, to retirement,” calling on the media outlets to “seek accuracy in publishing news.”

The statement added that “Referring any Commander or Officer to retirement is a regular issue and in case it happened it will be announced publicly.”

Some media outlets reported that “The Premier Nouri al-Maliki issued a decree to refer the Commander of the Federal Police within the Ministry of Interior the Lt. Gen. Hussein Awadi to retirement.”
