20 Iraqi Kurdish Airmen graduate Basic Military Training – MNF

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Air Force Training School on Thursday graduated more than 20 Iraqi Kurdish Airmen from Basic Military Training, according to a release issued by the Multi-National Forces (MNF) in Iraq. “The AFTS, mentored by members of the Coalition Air Force Training Team, Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq, plays a critically important role in the rebuilding and refitting of the Iraqi Air Force,” said the release that was received by IraqiNews.com. “This is the first all-Kurdish class to graduate from the school,” it added. “Most of the training is similar to U.S. Air Force training,” it noted. Tech. Sgt. Brent Warren, 821st Expeditionary Training Squadron advisor at the school, explained that graduates “were taught about using the chain of command, Air Force entitlements and similar things U.S. Airmen are taught.” The release stated that the graduates also tackled an obstacle course and two days of field training, all led by Iraqi’s. “For this class, we stood back and let the Iraqi’s take over,” said Warren.
