Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Abdul Hussein Resan al-Husseini of the Ahrar bloc, also a member in the Parliamentary Economy and Investment Committee, revealed that the figures and statistics about the produced electricity are different from those declared in media outlets, noting that “Dhi Qar province is the most aggrieved province with respect to the electricity situation.” Husseini confirmed that “What is declared in media outlets by the MoE about the figures in producing electricity is inconsistent with the reality,” referring that “There is injustice in the subject of distributing power on the provinces as it is a national grid and is controlled from Baghdad.” He clarified that “Dhi-Qar province is supplied with two hours on of electricity in return to four hours off while neighboring are provided with three hours on in return to three hours off,” criticizing the fact that “The ministry of electricity did not implement new electricity projects in Dhi-Qar province since the fall of former regime.”
