MoI develops plans to promote petrochemical, fertilizers industries
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Industry and Minerals held the first consultative meeting of the Petrochemical Industries and Fertilizers Committee in Iraq for purpose of discussing the mechanisms which to be adopted in the work of the Committee. A statement by the MoIM cited “The Ministry presented a detailed explanation about the steps taken by the Ministry related to the petrochemical industries and nitrogenous fertilizers and the means of developing these industries to achieve better economic and social returns to Iraq.” “The General Company for Designs and Industrial Consultations related to the MoIM concluded a contract with the French Technip Company to develop a strategic plan for the use of the natural gas in the petrochemicals and fertilizers industries,” the statement added. “The British Shell Company expressed a desire to invest in a giant Petrochemical complex in Iraq,” it concluded.
