MoE: electricity production witness great rise in July

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Electricity announced that “The electricity energy produced by the national electricity system reached (8027) MW,” referring that “This amount is the highest since the foundation of the MoE.” The Ministry’s Spokesperson, Musab al-Mudaris said “This amount was scheduled to be achieved at the end of the current month but due to the Ministry’s insistence and perseverance which shortened time in order to provide the citizens with as much as possible of electric power.” Al-Mudaris assured that “The MoE continues in implementing its programs to promote the electricity situation in the country,” asserting that “The Ministry will fulfill all promises made to the Iraqis and public opinion and the productivity of electric system will increase upto 9000 MW by end of July.” It is noteworthy that production of the national power grid in addition to the imported electricity was only 6000 MW in summer of 2011.
