MoO inaugurates 5th International Symposium for OPEC in Vienna

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Minister of Oil, Karim al-Aiybi, inaugurated, in Vienna, on Wednesday, the fifth International Symposium for OPEC countries about energy, which is held under the title (Oil…Promoting prosperity, supporting continuity). The Iraqi Minister who is assuming the chairmanship of the current round of OPEC, referred to the importance of the International Symposiums which started since 2001, they aims at strengthening the relations between the oil producer countries and the consumer countries. OPEC Chairman said “The symposium will discuss the latest updates related to oil industry and means of dialogue and coordination.” He noted “The discussions aim at enhancing dialogue through making use of the high-skilled cadres when discussing broad themes affect the oil industry in the near and remote term central developments resulting from the continuing global crisis and the economic problems that still plague various economies in the world.” For his part, the Viennese President, who attended the seminar, highly appreciated the role played by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and its dedicated fight to strengthen dialogue with the consumers and the European Union. This important international forum was attended by the Oil Ministers of the countries of OPEC, besides other oil producing States, the Heads of other international organizations, Heads of international and local oil companies, as well as others in the field of oil and prominent academics, analysts and journalists.
