Sadrist MP describes BIC as Corruption center

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hassan al-Jouburi, of al-Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend accused Baghdad Investment Committee as being the “Center for the financial and administrational corruption.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “We have received many claims and corruption issues against BIC,” noting that “Some elements in BIC cheat the investors by taking their lands and register them to others which creates a reaction to the investor and makes a bad idea about the investment sector in Iraq.”

“Many of the corruptions issues are being reviewed and will be submitted to the Parliamentary Integrity Committee to investigate them,” he added.

Some informal statistics mentioned that the financial and administrational corruption resulted in losing millions of USD and these funds were allocated to purchase estates and establish unreal companies outside of Iraq.
