MoE: Power generating to double during next 11 months

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Electricity announced that “The total amount of the electric energy produced and added during the coming 11 months will increase,” in a step believed to be a confirmation for what has been already announced about the improvement of the electricity situation in the coming period.

The Ministry mentioned in a statement that “It wants through declaring the amount of energy from June 2012, until April 2013, to achieve partnership with the Iraqi citizens.”

MoE pointed out that the energy which is produced currently is 6000 MW and it increases gradually month after month to reach in April, 2013 more than double the current production i.e. 12,330 MW up more than 105%.

Announcing these figures comes as a result of increasing the criticism against the ministry and its sincerity and credibility in fulfilling its promises related to improving the power generating.

The ministry declared that the numbers of the production units which will join the service, is 80% of the designed capacity for the additional generating units.
