Pakistani company wins 8th oil exploration block in Iraq
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The second phase of the 4th oil licenses round concerning exploring oil and gas in Iraq, started this Thursday, morning with attendance of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Hussein al-Shahristani and the Minister of Oil Abdul Karim Liaebi. IraqiNews.com correspondent cited “The 2nd session of oil licenses round has set out in MoO’s headquarters with attendance of a number of Iraqi Governors and representatives from the competing companies.” “The bid displayed six exploration blocks for oil and gas in different parts of the country,” he added. “Pakistani company won the eighth exploration block which extends between Diyala and Wassit provinces.” It is worth to mention that during the 1st phase of the round, six exploration sites were displayed but only one block won the bid in favor of a coalition of three companies from Kuwait, Emirates and Turkey.
