Iraq to face Lebanese team Sunday
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Football Team will face its Lebanese counterpart on Sunday within the matches of the third group of the Arab Cup of Nations held in KSA.
The match will be played at 18:30 hour according to Baghdad Local Time on the Amir Abdullah al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah city.
The Iraqi team will wear the complete green jersey while the Lebanese team will be wearing the red jersey.
For his part, the Technical Manager of the Iraqi team, the Brazilian coach Zico, assured that “The Iraqi team came to this Championship in order to compete on the Cup rather than only participation despite the absence of the key players Younis Mahmoud, Nashat Akram and Ali Hussein Rehaima whom I preferred to give them rest.”
“We consider the all the teams in the third group equally since all teams are playing for winning which makes all matches look serious,” Zico added, calling all Iraqi players to “prove their proficiency.”
The third group within the Arab Cup of Nations comprises the teams of Egypt, Lebanon and Sudan in addition to Iraqi team.
