Muqdadiya mayor’s bodyguards arrested

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: The bodyguards of Mudadiya mayor were arrested by a security force that came from the capital Baghdad, a local source said on Saturday. “This morning, Iraqi security forces coming from Baghdad raided the building of al-Muqdadiya mayorship and arrested all of the 16 bodyguards of Mayor Najm al-Harbi,” the source told IraqiNews.com. The source did not provide any information about the reasons behind the arrest. Diala province, a mix of Sunnis and Shiites, extends to the northeast of Baghdad as far as the Iranian border. Its capital is Baaquba, 57 km northeast of Baghdad. It covers an area of 17,685 square kilometers (6,828 sq mi).
