Angry river damages agrarian lands in Karbala

Karbala (IraqiNews.com) A number of houses of farmers with their agrarian crops have been damaged due to rising level of the water of Husseiniya River in Karbala province. IraqiNews.com correspondent said “A number of farmers In Abu Hadida village of Hindiya district of eastern Karbala complained from raising the level of Husseiniya River’s waters that caused damages to their houses and crops.” A farmer from the area, Ali Hassan, said “The reason behind raising the water levels in the early mentioned river are related to the process of cleaning the river that forced the officials who implement the project to dig a temporary river, but it was higher than the level of the agricultural land in the village.” For his side, the Director General of Irrigation Directorate in Karbala Munaf Sabbar Naif referred that “Abu Hadida village is administratively related to Karbala province but Babel province is responsible for its projects and this is what disrupt and delay the intervention in finding solutions to the problem.”
