Babel PC: Province’s share of fuel inadequate to local power generators

Babel PC: Province\

Babel (IraqiNews.com) Member of Babel Provincial Council of the Citizen Bloc Aqeel al-Silawi said that “The province’s share of the free fuel provided to the owners of the private local power generators is not enough to operate them for 8 hours per day.” Silawi clarified “The Ministry of Oil has allocated, last year 35 liters of gasoline per KV and this was inadequate but to generate 8 hours, therefore, they were forced to buy the rest of the required fuel from the black market.” He noted that “The MoO is going to provide these generators with only 30 liters in the current year and that will create a new crisis between the citizens and the generators’ owners on one hand, and the PC and the local government on the other.” “The disputes between the generators’ owners and the citizens will exacerbated especially that there are instructions issued by the Ministry of Electricity and the Cabinet to follow up the generators’ owners who do not adhere to provide 12 hours of power per day,” he concluded.
