Baghdad PC equips private sector generators with free fuel during summer

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Directors of the Energy Committee of Baghdad Provincial Council Ghaleb al-Zamely confirmed that the Council will launch providing the owners of the private sector’s electricity generators with fuel for free on May 25th.

Al-Zamely stated to IraqiNews.com “The Council decided to supply the fuel on May 25th instead of the previous date at the 1st of June,” confirming that “The rate of fuel supplied to these generators will be the same quantity agreed on.”

The Office of the Deputy Premier for Energy Affairs Hussein al-Shahristani announced the approval to provide the fuel for free to the owners of the private sector’s electricity generators during summer season.

Iraq suffers of huge electricity power crisis since the programmed electrical cut off hours reaches some times (16) hours a day and the government failed to fulfil its promises over improving the conditions of the electricity sector during the last nine years.
