Najaf (IraqiNews.com) Hundreds of farmers demonstrated in Najaf province demanding the local government to raise the prices of wheat and rice crops.
A correspondent of Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) reported today, Wednesday “About (300) farmers from all over the province, demonstrated in front of Najaf Provincial Council (PC) building after having official approvals, demanding the local government to increase the prices of wheat and rice crops.”
The demonstrators shut the main road leading to the Provincial Council, protesting delay in receiving their demands by the governor and the head of the PC and declared that they will not return till receiving their demands which were presented by the Local Agricultural Association on their behalf and was received by MP Abdul Hussein Abtan for Najaf and a number of PC members of the Citizen bloc who promised them to deliver these demands to the parliament.
