Maysan forms crisis cell to avoid earthquakes

Maysan (IraqiNews.com) _ Maysan province formed cell crisis to avoid the potential damages of the repeated shakes which the province witnesses.

A statement by the Province Office, received by Iraqi News mentioned Sunday ” A cell crisis was formed headed by Maysan Governor Ali Duai,and membership of some of the service departments and the Seismic Monitoring Bureau in the province after reoccurring the shakes in the orpvince,the province has registered 10 shakes , that is of today is the strongest reached 4.8 on Richter Scale.

It added that the committee was formed to  take care from any possible damages might be result from the shakes we cooperate with Maysan Oil Company in case the oil wells expose to any shakes especially that most of the border areas contain oil wells such as Bazergan,al- Teeb ,al-Halfaia and so on.

A source in the Seismic Monitoring Bureau of Maysan has reported to IraqiNews.com” The earthquake which hit Ali al-Garbi district this morning 08:00 80km to the east of Maysan did not cause any casualties or material damages.”

Maysan and other Iraqi provinces have witnessed several shakes during the last years, the Seismic Monitoring Bureau attributed that to Iraq location on the earthquakes line in the region.
