4 Katai’b Hezbollah gunmen detained in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: U.S. forces arrested four Katai’b Hezbollah gunmen in two separate operations in Baghdad on Monday, the U.S. army said. “Coalition forces captured a suspected militant, and apprehended three alleged Katai’b Hezbollah terrorists in two separate operations early Monday in Baghdad’s Rasafa district,” said the U.S. army in a statement received by IraqiNews.com. “During the first operation, Coalition forces acted on intelligence information to target suspected Katai’b Hezbollah members, believed to be responsible for recent attacks against Iraqi citizens and Iraqi and Coalition forces,” it added. “Coalition forces approached a residence in Rusafa believed to be the location of the wanted individuals, where they apprehended three suspected Katai’b Hezbollah terrorists without incident.” “During a separate operation in Rasafa, forces arrested a suspected militant believed to be responsible for collecting intelligence information on Iraqi and Coalition Forces. The wanted man is also believed to be involved in attacks against Coalition forces,” the statement added. “Katai’b Hezbollah is assessed to be a surrogate of Iran and its members are believed to be responsible for recent attacks against Iraqi citizens and Iraqi and Coalition forces,” it noted.
